The Hintersee is picturesquely nestled between steep rock faces. The basin at the end of the Felbertal valley is characterized by the mountain lake, which was formed by a rockfall in 1495. The ice-cold water of the lake is so clear that you can see right to the bottom and the fish swimming in it. A few meters from the lake is the large parking lot for day visitors, of which up to 10 spaces can also be used as parking spaces. There are toilets with washbasins, but no shower facilities. Please do not dispose of large amounts of garbage in the garbage bins but in the waste collection centers in the villages in the valley. Even cell phone reception is often difficult at the parking lot, there is no internet. We therefore recommend booking your pitch online in advance. Dogs are generally allowed, but as the campsite is located on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park, dogs should not be allowed to run around freely so as not to endanger wild animals.
